Teeth that are not aligned properly in the mouth also have a bad appeal on the individual. People with crooked teeth tend to hide their teeth when they smile or laugh because they are not confident showing them. This can have a major impact on the self-esteem of the individual. This can affect the life of the individual in several ways.

Orthodontists have a variety of removable and fixed gadgets that they use to rectify misalignment in jaws and teeth. These gadgets are normally used in various functions like, moving teeth and retraining the muscles hence affecting how the jaws grow. These devices work in manner that involves putting a little pressure on the jaws and teeth that have been affected till they are realigned properly.

Different appliances come with different capabilities of correcting dental misalignment. Thus, the severity of the condition one suffers from determines the type of dental appliance that the dental practitioner will use. If necessary, several appliances and approaches can be used in solving some conditions at the same time. Each appliance and approach is used at different levels of the treatment procedure.
