Exercise is the catalyst that helps your body to utilize the protein from your food, turning it into healthy strong muscle tissue. Along with the protein that you are eating in these foods there is also a small amount of trans fats which can cause a rise in cholesterol. The best times to have a protein shake are first thing in the morning and right after a good workout, so it's okay to fussy about the brand of shakes you choose. Take your protein needs into consideration when choosing a shake as the market is flooded with brands, some of which are up to 90% ineffectual. With so many products on offer it can be easy to get lost in the crowd, so asking a professional trainer for their opinion on which products they would recommend is a great way to narrow down your search.

To get the energy to gain bigger stronger muscles you need carbs, your body will break them down into sugars which it will use for energy. Notice that if you don't put enough energy into your workout the spare carbs will get converted into fat to store the energy. Whilst cutting out carbohydrates altogether is not what you want to do it is best to makes sure that you keep an eye on the amount of carbs you are taking on during your training. Counting you carbohydrate intake may not be the most interesting thing in the world but it will help you to achieve the goals you have set yourself, you want bigger stronger muscles not fat. If you cut out carbohydrates altogether you simply won't have the energy required to train, you just need to makes sure that you don't go overboard whilst refilling the tank. How many carbs is too much depends solely on your metabolic rate. If you think that you would benefit from and increased of decreased intake of carbs it is wise to discuss it with your personal trainer who can give you a clearer view of what you need to be doing.

Eating the right amount of the right foods will help you gain the type of body building experience that you are looking for.
